"The Aesthetic of Drugs _ D.E.A. Project" is born as a re-authoring operation. In a mediated society where the author becomes the one who publishes and spreads, Alterazioni Video appropriates the American anti-drugs database re-contextualizing it. An operation which creates a dialogue with the hollywood-pulp imaginary and reflects on the glamour and attraction that the forbidden and the ilegal exercise. As Kate Moss, Britney Spears or Diego Armando Maradona stand to show, today the use and abuse of narcotics does not recall the "alternative" Rock & roll scene but is the key to achieving mainstream success in the world of fashion, art and showbusiness. The main objective of the exhibition nevertheless remains that of reflecting upon the new conceptual and aesthetic implications of the digital ready-made. The possibiility of high quality re-authoring the infinite resource of images found on the web opens new aesthetic perspectives and questions the new function of the author.
